Day 1NairobiDay 1: Nairobi / Arrival
Upon arrival JKIA you are met by Nature Expeditions representative and be transferred to the Hotel for an overnight at Eka Hotel [Bed and Breakfast]
Day 2AmboseliDay 2: Nairobi/Amboseli [Approx. 4 hrs drive]
After breakfast, check out and drive to Amboseli National Park, famous for its big game and scenic beauty with the landscape dominated by the Mt. Kilimanjaro. It offers an interesting contrast with its dry and dusty appearance, which can be attributed to the volcanic ash that came out of Mt Kilimanjaro when it last erupted. In spite of the appearance, there is a continuous supply of water that gets filtered through volcanic rocks from Kilimanjaro's melted snow. These streams flow underground, creating lush green areas, and converge at two clear water springs in the park. You will arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon games drive until sunset. Day 3AmboseliDay 3: Amboseli
Spend another day in Amboseli on morning and afternoon game drive. The park is famous for its big game and scenic beauty with the landscape dominated by the Mt. Kilimanjaro. Day 4AberdaresDay 4: Amboseli / Aberdares (Approx 6-7 hrs drive)
After breakfast check out and drive to Aberdare arriving for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive at Solio Ranch, this ranch plays a very major part in the protection and breeding of black rhinos, the ranch is fenced, privately owned protected area geared toward rhino conservation, Rhino is a member of the big 5 group which includes lions, leopards, buffaloes and elephants. Day 5SamburuDay 5: Aberdare/Samburu (Approx 4-5 hrs drive)
After breakfast, check out and drive further north of Kenya to Samburu Game Reserve which is within the land of the colourful Samburu people, close relatives of the Maasai, and harbours a number of wildlife species found only north of the equator. It offers unique vistas of rounded and rugged hills and undulating plains. The mix of wood and grassland with riverine forest and swamp is home to a wide variety of animal and birdlife. Check-in at the lodge followed by lunch and later in the evening proceeds on a game viewing drive until sunset. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Sentrim Camp [Full Board]
Day 6SamburuDay 6: Samburu
Spend another day in this Reserve where game viewing and visibility is excellent. Bird life is superb with over 380-recorded species and game includes reticulated giraffes, Gravy's zebras, elephants, Oryx, Somali ostrich, hippos, crocodiles, gerenuk, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. The long-necked gerenuk is a graceful antelope which spends much of its time in a bi-pedal stance seeking succulence among the withered scrub which dots this harsh terrain. Scenically, for most of the year Samburu is under the unsympathetic equatorial sun. Relief comes from the Ewaso Ng'iro River which rises some hundreds of kilometers to the west on the foothills of the Aberdare and which vanishes beyond Samburu in the recess of the Lorian swamp. Day 7Lake NakuruDay 7 Samburu/Lake Nakuru (Approx 4-5 hrs drive)
After breakfast check out with picnic lunch boxes and proceeds to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Notable game within the lake includes hippo and clawless otters. On the shores roam waterbuck, Bohor's Reedbuck and zebra. The woodlands and forest are now home to both black and white rhino. Buffalo, leopard, lion, Rothschild's giraffe, and Black and White Colobus monkey are plentiful in the forest. The bush lands offer eland, steinbok, impala, Chandler's reedbuck and dik dik, whilst rock hyrax and klipspringer occupy the cliffs and escarpment and the big 5 animals which are lions, elephants, leopard overnight at Sentrim Lodge Elementaita [Full Board]
Day 8Lake NaivashaDay 8 Lake Nakuru /Lake Naivasha (Approx. 2 hrs drive)
After breakfast, check out and drive to Lake Naivasha, arrive for lunch followed by an afternoon boat ride. All meals and overnight at Great R. Valley Lodge [Full Board]
Day 9Masai MaraDay 9: Lake Naivasha/ Masai Mara (Approx. 6 hrs drive)
After breakfast, check out and drive to the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, so named to mean the "spotted plains" in the Maa language. This is home to the greatest concentration of large mammals and is widely recognized as Africa's ultimate wildlife reserve. The park is the northern extension to the vast Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, famous for its annual migration of wildebeest. Arrive for lunch at the camp and later depart for an evening game viewing drive until sunset in this spectacular place of breathtaking sceneries, never-ending plains and the most abundant variety of wildlife remaining anywhere in the world. The landscape is made up of rolling savannahs dotted with patchy shrubs and bush thickets. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sentrim Camp (full board)
Day 10-11Masai MaraDay 10 and 11 Masai Mara
Spend a further day of game watching with morning and afternoon game drives. Wildlife is abundant in the Reserve with the gentle grasslands ensuring that animals are never out of sight. Birds are prolific including immigrants, 450 bird species have been recorded among them 57 birds of prey. Every year the Mara plays host to the world's greatest natural spectacle; The Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti. The big cats - lion, leopard, and cheetah - follow the wildebeest, essentially their main source of food, into the Mara. The Mara at this time is literally packed with wildlife, providing lucky visitors on safari with superb sightings of game. All meals and overnight at Mara Sentrim Camp (full board)
Day 12NairobiDay 12 Masai Mara / Nairobi / Depart
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi lunch en-route on own, on arrival you are transferred to JKIA for your outbound flight.
